Public Storage - El Cajon - 1047 N Johnson Ave

I’m happy to say that when I called customer service they were able to help me out with finishing the process to move in. The reason being nobody was in the office. I only went to the office because I had originally missed a call from the location I was going to move into that same day. I tried calling back several times and had left messages but nothing in response so after minorly panicking I contacted customer service and they were able to help me out finishing the process so I can move in same day. Which customer service ended up helping me out effortlessly to be able to move in. I was contacted by the office the next day after messages had already been left and I already have moved in. Highly recommend to put actual office hours and not just location hours that way you’re able to be helped on site if needed. Due to cleanliness. how secure location is and of course the great price those are the reasons I would recommend this place. Just hoping prices don’t keep rising like other storages have done in the past.

i've always used public storage and have always been very satisfied. however, recently i been having a couple of issues regarding about my payments being late, getting different information. again regarding payment due date, and when i call, no one ever answers. and this is at any time of the day. i'm still very happy with your business. i just rented another space. i guess we're just going through some hic-cups. up untill now and this covers prior tears i,ve never had any issues. i think we'll get these straightened out. thank you sonia

the big sunk hole at code box is dangerous. needs immediate attention

I used to come here when it was shurgard storage so I felt comfortable here and safe. The only thing is I had to add another storage unit for me and I would think you would get a discount for having more than one but nope same size and more money.

I called and they were helpful found exactly what I wanted a 10 x 10 drive-up unit. The manager was very nice and helpful. It was raining that day and horrible and everybody was not very happy. But these people seem to be happy and I appreciate that very much.

The people are really nice and helpful. The process to get a unit is really easy and quick. The units are not climate controlled but for my needs I don't need it. The walls between the units seem flimsy, but they seem to be standard.

The staff were very professional. They handled my paperwork quickly, showed me the unit and I was on my way within 20 minutes. They were friendly, courteous and respectful.

Can't complain about anything. Everything went very smoothly and I am very happy with the storage unit I rented.

Hannah and Miguel were easy to communicate with regarding the rules, regulations and expectations. They spoke to me with confidence and did not make me feel insecure about any questions I may have had ad this is the first time using/needing a storage unit.

The only reason for 3 stars instead of 5 is the fact that I had to purchase a lock from the facility as it's nearly impossible to find in stores. I was not told about the lock before hand (I reserved online as well as completed the express check in online) since it was sprung on me while at the location, I had no other option but to pay $20 for a lock. Had I been given advanced notice I could have found the lock for a much more reasonable price. This was my only issue. Other than that it's been s 5 star experience. Hopefully something changes

The staff were friendly and accommodating. They were also knowledgeable of their rates and policies. My husband and I did not like that the storage unit we were shown had a lot of nails bulging out and we saw that as a safety hazard as well as a potential to damage our things. We ended up renting out the unit and Miguel was kind enough to flatten the nails and remove any other hazards.

I just like the spot.

I rented a 30 x 10 unit. I was a little upset with the cost ending up to be more for the first month then I was told. The lock and insurance were mandatory and then cost another 20, and 15, Respectively. I feel there should have been more concise cost details. If I tell someone I am selling a car for 500, and when they get there tell them 600 that was a lie. Any ways the information on rental was clear and cost laid out in verbage I could understand. The security and location are nice. The staff was friendly.

Out of all the storage facilities in or around El Cajon, Public Storage off Johnson is the most convenient and easiest to access off the 8 Hwy. The staff was extremely helpful even though I arrived 10min to closing time.

The front desk staff is extremely nice and friendly. Makes a difference dealing with friendly staff when you are already stressed with moving.
