There are two employees there and older white gentleman property manager and older black lady who are both beyond rude to customers, i was waiting in line to do business and heard her screaming on the phone at some other customer, i almost didnt sign up but it was imperative that i get storage for that day, i may move my things as soon as possible though based on their treatment of other clients

If I could give more stars, I would. Thanks to Al! He was extremely helpful, very accommodating, quick to check me in, made sure my unit was all ready to go before handing off the keys, and most importantly (especially during this crazy time), he was very nice and pleasant to talk to! I read a lot of good reviews - all mentioning Al - before deciding to reserve a unit here, so I'm very happy with my decision.

The staff at the storage location are very nice and knowledgeable people. Also, the staff that answer the toll free number are also very helpful. The storage itself is clean and the grounds are kept nice too.The storage location staff seem to always be available that's a plus when you are turned around in the storage area and can't seem to find the way out! It's great to see them and they assist your exiting without giving you any grief about losing your way.

I had an urgent need to store my belongings, and placed my order online in order to achieve the lowest cost possible. The web site showed that the space cost a certain amount, and was a certain size. However, the web site only showed the length and width of the unit, not the height. When I called to find out the height of the unit, I was told that the ceiling is more than 10 feet high. It turns out that is not the case. I brought a tape measure with me, and there was chicken wire installed to keep the ceiling at 8.5 feet. Furthermore, it turns out that the sizing is an estimate. The unit was actually smaller than advertised. I would have no problem if the unit was actually bigger than advertised, but apparently Public Storage is the kind of company that wishes to take advantage of people. If they actually cared about their customers, then they would advertise their units as smaller than they actually are, instead of larger than they actually are. After choosing a specific unit to rent, I decided to change my reservation the next day. To my dismay, the prices had increased. I was given an excuse about pricing being based on demand. Somehow I doubt that to be true, because if so, then prices would decline when demand decreases. Coming from a new customer who is unfamiliar with how the company operates, and has an urgent need to rent for the first time, it feels incredibly rude for the company to not give clear details about each unit, and the pricing changes leave me with the sense that the company doesn't actually care about me. I understand that Public Storage is a business, but businesses should exist to serve their customers, not take advantage of them for the sake of maximizing profit.

I like this place. It is clean and well maintained by the staff. It was easy to work with the staff to find me a storage unit that was right for me. I made a reservation for a unit not realizing how big it was so they got one that was the perfect size. Easy access to the unit either by the street side elevator or use the one in the back. Parking in there own indoor lot by the office or for moving trucks there is a large lot with parking for several large trucks. Al the manager was a great guy to work with

99 Van Ness Avenue: The facility is in good enough condition, remember your computer generated code coz you'll be using it a lot! (Especially if you have to use the elevators) Very important: Only deal with Al at the front desk. That woman Elise has the biggest chip on her shoulder, she doesn't like her job and will not listen to you because she will be too busy talking (and she cannot talk and listen...) She also forgets that by us paying, she gets paid. So at least let the client explain themselves. I am considering moving out due to her attitude alone.

So far my experience has been good overall. Biggest down point was when I checked out a flat dolly, giving them my license while I did. When I came back the 2 girls working the office had closed up, leaving a sign that said they'd be back in twenty minutes. So even though I was done, I had to stay another 20 to get my license back! With two people working you would think one would stay in the office!
