Good modern facility. Good advertised deal for first month's rent. But I wish they stop charging the $24 set-up fee because it tantamounts to false advertising and destroys the initially advertised move-in discount deal. Their mandatory insurance fee is also too high. A quick search on the web will quickly bring up video demonstrations of people easily picking Public Storage locks. They sell their locks at high prices compared to locks at hardware stores that are also easy to pick. I wish they sold locks that are at least not so easy to pick.

We've kept 2 storage units at Public Storage since moving 7 years ago. The townhouse we rented had a garage which served as our storage overflow, but when our unit was sold, we weren't certain where we wanted to relocate, so we put everything from the garage and the townhouse into storage. Now that we've decided where we're ultimately going to settle, we rented a third storage unit dedicated to the few things we're going to keep, and will be working to liquidate the remaining stuff from our two original units, then move out from the third unit. This PS location is excellent. The premises are kept clean, and are well lit. Security is the most important thing when choosing a storage facility, and we've always felt confident about this location. It's great that each customer has an individual gate code to use, which is needed not only to enter, but to exit. Elizabeth, the manager at the Arcturus Avenue location, is wonderful! She is friendly, personable and professional, and really cares about delivering excellent customer service. We checked out several other storage facilities before choosing to rent here, and our decision was largely influenced by Elizabeth's positive and understanding attitude and attention to detail. She is always responsive to our needs, goes the extra mile to be sure our needs are met or questions answered, and is a pleasure to deal with, whether on phone or in person. I do have a bone to pick about Public Storage's pricing. In recent years our rent has gone up and up. There definitely should be some discount for long term customers and customers with multiple units. We do appreciate the flexibility Public Storage provides in paying rent up to the 5th of a month without a late fee, and the company's website and online bill paying makes it a breeze, but there should be some kind of incentive or rebate for long term customers. If you need to store your stuff, this is a great place to do it with confidence. Personally, however, I would urge everyone to get rid of their stuff!! We're all pack rats, and once something is out of sight, it's out of mind. I've probably paid six times over what my stuff is worth, and now having to deal with it again?? I wish I had had more time to sell it all off years ago, kept a special savings account into which I could have deposited the monthly storage fees, and bought everything new when we move!! The late George Carlin's routine about "STUFF" is so true!! At this point in life, I'm ready to embrace minimalism!! LOL The only thing that would make Public Storage the ultimate in the business would be if they allowed customers to conduct limited, on site auctions from their storage space. It's totally understandable, though, why they don't.
