Public Storage - Delray Beach - 6000 W Atlantic Ave

Went very smoothly. I had no problems at all.

I wanted to store my car just for a few days to protect it from the coming hurricane. When I called the central line they suggested that this location would do a prorated charge for four days till end of month (26th to 30th) which is $40 plus $29 registration fee plus tax. I signed up for this option and soon after that I received a phone call from the location, and the lady also confirmed that I would be charged $69 for the four days. The next day I was filling the forms online and at the end it asked me to pay $377 for the first month. I called the location and the lady said that it was how their website worked and she assured me that I would be charged only for the four days rather than for a month when I come. When I came, she presented me a bill for the same $377 and said that the prorated payment till end of month is for the second month, but I still had to pay for the full first month even though I needed the storage for a few days only. When I asked why I was told a different thing three times, including twice by herself, she told me that this deal was available as a promotion at some other locations. I had to leave and look for another facility in a rush. I believe that confirming a good deal three times over the phone just to bring in the customer and charge him five times more than what was promised is a very lousy way of doing business. I will never deal with this company again.

Tried to charge me again for insurance that was already paid. Agent did not care that my receipt had said I was paid in full, claiming that the computer said I owed money. Eventually (1 1/2 hrs later) the supervisor said there was an error and I owed nothing. We will NEVER use Public Storage again. Side issue...Supervisor said that this computer problem happens once-in-a-while. How many other people just paid the overcharge. Dishonest Business practices.

After researching many different storage units public storage had the perfect size I needed at the best price in town. They are very accommodating and asked all my questions over the phone. The units are very clean and i love that fact that it is gated I feel very comfortable going there in the evening there are plenty of lights around the building. The staff is wonderful and i would recommend public storage to my friends and family or to anyone who needs it. Thank you public storage!

Decent place with decent rates. However the lighting in the units is pitiful. The fact that you can not determine your own gate code is a pain if you forget your reading glasses and the forced insurance is the only semi serious draw back. To be forced to insure stuff that I really could care less about losing is painful. There should be some sort of voluntary waiver for loss.
