Public Storage - Chicago - 4430 N Clark Street

With all the protests going on right now it appears some people tried to get into the facility and broke the main garage door which is the only way in or out for vehicles trying to get to their storage unit. Because of this I wasn't sure I would be able to actually move all my stuff from the 17 foot U-Haul I rented into the unit I had just paid for days before. Luckily two hours before I picked up my stuff the door had been fixed. I hope this is a rare thing for this location. I must admit the manager in the office at the time was very helpful and transparent.

I had a Phenomenal experience. Jackie was so helpful. She answered every last one of my questions. She even helped me select a better unit. I highly recommend using this facility.

I was upsold a lock that was 80% more expensive that I would have bought at Target. it was the exact same lock. Also, I was required to buy insurance on the spot. I did not know that would be a requirement or I would have called my insurance agency ahead of time to arrange that myself, for much cheaper. And the carts on site do not work very well.

I have had 2 storage units with this facility within the past year, and have been extremely pleased with the friendliness of the on site manager, as well as, the ease of access to my unit. The building is secure and well lit. The manager is very aware of your comings and goings. I have always felt safe entering and exiting my unit at various times of day. Policies were explained very clearly regarding renting a new unit, and the time frame in which to clear out the original unit, so as not to be charged additional fees. I also appreciate that the manager recognizes and knows me by name.

I have had a decent experience at the facility, but the rate could be much more affordable. The required insurance is steep.
