Public Storage - Winfield - 28W650 Roosevelt Road

Beware of you are trying to store a big vehicle. We have a 41 ft travel trailer and it was horrible to get into. Not enough space initially getting into the gate. They need to put in a separate straight entrance for vehicles to get into because that was the worst experience I've ever had trying to get into and I've had RVs for 30 years

I love the price and customer service, on the phone, was outstanding. He took his time to find me the best deal form me, and explained all the procedures and what to expect. However, is a bit far from where we leave, about 25 min and the storage is surrounded by 3 huge power towers, one of which is inches away from our unit, exposing us to tremendous amounts of radiations, while we are at our storage unit.

Door to storage locker keeps coming down which is not safe when trying to open. It keeps sliding down . Having a hard time for it to stay open.

Never told if ceiling light socket will work. Ceiling hole needs fixing

I chose this facility because they had space for my stuff and my Trailer, The customer service is amazing but the owner needs to put in some major renovations to keep this place up to date, The trailer parking is in the dirt, there are plants growing into some of the vehicles being stored there they do not take care of this area. I moved my household stuff from this facility because the door would not stay up and it was further from the place I was renting. Overall this is an ok facility in a nice area but the up keep of the property will be hard unless the owner puts some money into maintaining the trees and paves the area where the trailers are kept. The customer service at the office has always been amazing but the property itself is overpriced for what you get.

Doing a remodel so needed storage. Sam was so helpful to ensure I had the size I needed as I vastly underestimated the size of storage unit. Since I reserved online I was able to upgrade at the online price. No pressure to buy their lock or insurance. Very happy with this location and excellent customer service.

Storing our second vehicle while house is being built

Great place for storage. It is a secure place to park our rv at a reasonable price. The staff is friendly and the place is secure and convenient.

The woman working was very kind and helpful. The storage unit did have a stain on the ground but it didnﾃ｢竄ｬ邃｢t look like it would affect my items. The roof needs to be redesigned because when it rains the water comes straight down right by the entrance. It had rained the day before and my arms got soaked putting items in the unit. Best price in the area.

Good location for us, good price, tight spots (but I think thatﾃ｢竄ｬ邃｢s standard. Just some confusion on spot numbers and them being moved.

I was very happy with the professionalism of the staff. However-- When I reserved the space, I was told that the "total move-in costs" would be $25.00. Upon arrival and after viewing the rental space, I began processing the paperwork. I was told I would need to pay an additional $16.00 per month for required insurance. I was also told I could not use my own lock, but had to purchase one from Public Storage ($19.00). So, my new move in costs were approximately $60.00. This almost seems like a "bait and switch" type set-up.

The process was quick ... however the manger did a great job of force upselling !!! She made me think the lock was in loaded in the monthly rate .. until it was time to pay .. I ended up paying $ 20 for a lock and she never mentioned insurance until signing the contract Then she kept saying I had to have insurance.. additional $11 plus the rental fee $51 out the door ...

The desk staff was very efficient. Quick check in and access to our storage area. Very clean! Love the security program as well. Even though forced to take insuance I give the location 5 stars.

Key pad way to far to reach from the window car. Is there any app that can control the automated door?

The Manager and Trainee at the West Chicago facility made reserving space a breeze. Very helpful and nice!
