Staff and place was nice, thanks for allows us to use the truck it really helped with the move in. The storage was a perfect size.

They offer a free truck with move. The truck is a 2005, dented, rusted and scratched truck that is so filthy it probably has never been cleaned. I didn’t even want to put my cup in the cup holder. The truck died and I was left on the street with items in the truck from 10:30pm until 1pm the next day! They have no night customer service, I called and emailed multiple times explaining we were stranded with no support. I tried to use my roadside assistance but the truck was too large. When the office opened and they didn’t find the truck instead of calling and offering assistance, the office manager sent an email saying the truck always worked before. They then emailed the corporate office,which she said was in California, and offered me no assistance. I had to rent another vehicle to take our items out of the truck to get them to storage. I explained that the confusion with the office hours and truck caused me to have to change my flight and rent a vehicle and they offered no compensation or apology whatsoever. The manager and assistant claimed to have gone to pick up the truck and explained that the truck wasn’t in gear which was why it wasn’t starting. They never offered me this solution in email or on the phone. They did not attempt to come and assist me, but went and got the truck when I left it on the road. They made no attempt to assist me or my son. The units are not inside units. It is a completely outdoor facility. You walk up to a driveup unit and put your items inside. The only reason I didn’t go elsewhere was because I couldn’t miss a second flight.

Found this storage facility online after looking at almost 50, they had the best value, location and the staff I encountered was super nice, knowledgeable and helpful.

I spent several hours comparing prices and MiniU had the absolute best prices in my area. The manager was very helpful and friendly. The truck has a $29 usage fee that they waive for the first use but it also has an additional $19 insurance fee that must be paid each time the truck is used.

Navigating the site was a bit confusing at first and other customers trucks had blocked a number of the aisles requiring us to back out after we had unloaded. On balance it was a more than adequate storage solution for our household goods to be stored temporarily.

I was moving in a time crunch, and had to rent a u-haul since their free truck had been reserved by someone else. I got an outdoor unit, so I could move my things in after office hours. When I arrived with my uhaul full of my entire apartment I discovered they had forgotten to remove their lock on the unit and as it was after office hours there was no way of accessing my unit. I ended up having to lock my items in the uhaul and park it in a discreet location. I had to pay for another day with the uhaul and pay for another day with the movers so it ended up costing me both time and money for their mistake.

Okay, but could be better. No real discounts.

It was my first time ever renting a storage unit. I didnﾃ｢竄ｬ邃｢t know how it worked and the staff was very helpful and friendly. The pricing is pretty good and is able to fit all my things. It looks a little rusty but i Dont mind it because it dies its job.

I set up the rental on behalf of a family member. Andre was particularly helpful: efficient, great communicator, collaborative problem solver, courteous -- and EXCELLENT FOLLOW-THROUGH. Everything went without a hitch.

Moved in to this storage unit on 4/26 and I had a great experience with customer service and with moving in. Putting all my stuff in the storage unit was a lot easier than I thought it would be. I was able to park right next to it and just move everything out of my car in less than 5 minutes. The four stars on cleanliness are because even though my storage unit is in a hall, there's spiders all over and on the second day of moving my stuff already had dirt in it. Just have to make sure you put everything in boxes or trash bags.

There are several storage places much closer to my home, but this Mini-U-Storage Capital Plaza has the absolute best prices. As I'm storing items that are very important to me, security is a priority. Thankfully I'm very comfortable with their security. And lastly, the customer service is definitely 5-star.

Staff were incredibly helpful in my move-in. Was already some water that is leaked into my unit but was minor. No note that insurance was mandatory.

I was very pleased with the storage facility and they provided excellent customer service which is a must when you spend your hard earned money.

While I was pleased with the overall service, I thought the cost to park my car in a uncovered parking was too expensive.

Does the job. Controlled access and well-marked systems. TIP: Show up with proof of household insurance (if you have it). The "free" truck, with insurance, fees, and gas, is not really free, and was not clean. If that doesn't matter, no worries. The personnel were efficient and friendly. Our particular space was going to be swept out before we put our stuff in, but it was not. Not a big deal, though.

The overall unit is your typical storage unit, but, the person working the front desk was pretty great. The size of the unit is exact - they use real estate sizing. So if you need every inch to make something fit, I'd go at least two feet larger.

I needed a place to store some extra furniture that I've purchased for our new place. Mini U Storage was at the right location with the right price. The unit doesn't seem to be temperature controlled, but that wasn't an issue for me.

Friendly customer service. Nothing goes the extra-mile, but they provide a basic unit and secured ground. Room for improvement, but definitely a good choice is pricing is the leading factor.

Out of all the storage facilities I've had to use since college, this is by far the cleanest, friendliest and most affordable facility I've used. The staff is personable and accommodating, which is wonderful. The facilities are well kept all around, and I appreciate that they accept AAA too.

I highly recommend Mini-U storage. Of all the storage facilities I've had to use since college, this business really goes above and beyond to make sure they accomodate their customers (Well, at least for me anyway.). I used my AAA card to reserve a 5x10 storage unit, but I wound up not even needing it, and their deal was better. Plus, a free truck rental is included in the price. The attendant at the counter allowed me to view my unit before signing anything, and it was quite spacious but totally worth it. As well, the unit itself, along with the grounds in general, was clean.

Been renting for over a year. My only issues are the limited hours if you have an inside unit and there never seems to be any working carts. Otherwise I would give a higher rating. Staff is great and rates are awesome!

The facility is ideal if you can work with the limited access hours. The truck for move in is a plus! My only gripe, there are not many carts available to assist with moving items from your vehicle to the storage unit.

I rented a space that came with a "free truck rental". When I called to ask about it I was told that I could pick a truck of my choice when I came to sign for my space. The place was easy to find. The office was clean and the staff polite. I thank spare foot for notifying me about the additional fees. The truck rental turned out not to be free at all, there were several fees and deposits required. When I got back to put my things in storage there was someone blocking my space. There were also several random people wandering the storage lot and I was quite unhappy to have a police car pull up and have the officers eyeball me as we placed things into storage.

Our experience with Mini U was great. We were quoted a price well below every other place we looked, with half off the first month and 50 free miles in a moving truck. The sign up process was a bit lengthy but the front desk staff was nice and helpful. Our unit was clean and we had no issues moving in. If I had to find one complaint, however, it would be the truck; while it ran just fine it was very dirty and smelly inside the cabin. Can't complain too much with such a low price though! Would definitely recommend and use again.

The price was great and unit the perfect side. However, the person who reserved the truck for the time slot before us kept the truck through our entire time slot, therefore, we had to reschedule our movers and move until the next day. The staff, however, was apologetic and very accommodating by allowing us to reschedule for the next day and have the truck and access to our unit for extended hours which we greatly appreciated.

This storage is simple but can be a good place to store your belongings if you're looking for a relatively cheap place in the area. The online sign-up on the Website didn't seem to work, so I called to check if the reservation had gone through. The staff was slow to help me and appeared confused at first, though eventually they gave me the information I needed. Initial sign-up paperwork was slow as well. However, after that, I've had a good experience with the storage. Service was much faster once I was a customer there. The place is relatively clean and appears safe.

Once you find it, this place is actually a great bargain. Good service from knowledgeable staff. Pros: -Booking from SpareFoot, I got a steal, 5 x 10 for just $69 a month (most places like Public Storage charge near $100 plus insurance (required).-Insurance is cheap ($9 a month)-Gated access-Open on Saturday and Sunday-Near 295 and right near WalmartCons:-I'm not sure if the unit is clean or not, because its very dark inside the "Hall" where the unit is.-I wouldn't leave clothes or shoes in the unit, because moths or mice might get to it-It's not climate controlled, but to be fair I guess if it was it'd be very expensive

I researched storage places outside the DC metro area on Sparefoot, searching for a place to keep my things while I make the gradual transition to living in the area. I made a reservation for Mini-U-Storage at Capital Plaza more than 2 weeks in advance. I strongly recommend making a reservation if you find a rate that you like, as this locks in the price. A woman inquiring the same day as my move-in ended up paying $20 more per month for the same size unit! I had no problems on move-in day, but I do recommend bringing a furniture dolly or other hand truck to help carry heavier items down the hallways. This made a world of difference. No complaints thus far about Mini-U. Friendly staff, easy to get to.

I was relatively happy with the unit, however, it was about as far away from the front as possible. Also, they made me buy a lock for the unit for $13. I was never informed prior to my visit that i would have to provide a lock for the unit. My wife rents a unit for her business and they provided the lock.

Just a simple spot to store items. Good deal overall. Waited quite a bit to do paper work, but great employees that made it worth it. Warranty is extra, and required unless you have proof of personal property insurance. Should have disclosed this info so I could have prepared the documents for when I signed papers. Sent it in the day I signed papers, but didn't get refund for first month. Not the end of the world (I'm out $9).

I found this place on sparefoot; places in DC were over $125 per month, this was was only $25 and was just as good. If you have a car definitely rent from here, even if you don't they allow you to rent a truck and bring it out. They also have good deals that come up, so keep an eye out for that. They also did a great job explaining everything in the lease and made me feel like I know what I am signing, as opposed to customer service reps who just ask you to initial and sign everything at once.

We received an excellent deal on our locker. The young men in charge did a fine job setting us up with the locker and filling out the paper work. Corridors are narrower and lighting is poorer than in other storage facilities we have used, but the bottom line for us is that we are very happy with the service, the locker, and especially the price.

I was pleasantly surprised with the cheap price - the only downer is that it's cheap because it's on an inside hallway (not climate controlled) and the hallways are only open during business hours. All other more expensive units had 6a-9p access. But for $19/mo for a 5x6' unit, I'm thrilled. And they don't autodebit your account like so many others do. YOU get to decide when to pay as long as you do it by the due date. Great and awesome - Kathy the mgr is very highly recommended!!!!

For the price, this storage location offers the best deal I could find in the DC area. And it's very easy to access off of the highway. Staff is friendly and spells everything out in terms even a dummy like me can understand. I rented the truck for free and didn't have any problems. Thanks for everything!

Pleasant Professional Service. Flexible staff I just wish the hours for access to my unit were better. Why can't we have security codes for our hallways for after hours. I don't think an old padlock and dingy to no lighting is a deterrent

Very friendly and helpful staff (five stars for the staff!) The facility is secured. Fees, insurance etc. are not spelled out on the third-party website so make sure you call and ask ahead of time. The facility itself seems clean but the unit I got was not. I believe the previous renter has just moved out and they should have inspected and cleaned as necessary before giving me the unit. I was in a hurry so didn't ask for a different one, which I am sure the staff won't have a problem with. Overall good experience but could be better.

We went on a Saturday and there was no line to complete paperwork which only took about 15 minutes. They were extremely helpful in showing us our unit and making sure things were as we had expected. The staff was friendly. The buildings were clean and felt secure.

This storage has very good prices. I think that they could use some flat bed carts, very good overall still.

Went on a Saturday and there were a lot of people moving in, it was hard to get into my unit. Moved all my stuff to the hallway door and then a lock had to be cut off the unit and i had to wait longer for the manager to come cut it off and give the key to the hallway. I wouldn't recommend going at the beginning or end of the month.
