Public Storage - Farmington Hills - 28600 Grand River Ave

When I got to the empty unit, there was no lock there that I had prepaid for. All of my furniture was unloaded into the unit and I could not lock it up that night. I went to the unit the next day, and there was no person on site to help me. Now my unit has been unlocked two nights in a row. Today I need to go to a different storage facility to pick up a lock myself. Not very happy with that.

Only thing - need access to some kind of cart to transport items

The storage space is perfect however if you need to work in the space for any period of time, it's not very convenient. When trying to organize the items in my unit I found myself plunged into darkness and had to stop what I was doing every 3-5 minutes and walk into the hall to trigger the sensor to turn on lights. I tripped more than once and it took longer to do what I needed to do. Also, no public bathroom - again, if you need to spend any time in your unit not having a bathroom available is very inconvenient. I know it is not in contract to have one available but maybe there is a storage company out there that provides a public restroom. Just something to consider.

Best customer service I've had in a while. Samantha was great, very sympathetic and handled herself well. She really knows her job and the place is clean and very secure.

Came in to buy boxes for a big move, Samantha was great. She helped me find all the right sizes and gave great suggestions on how to pack everything in the right size boxes and with the right accessories. She also gave me info on storage for when I am ready to store. I will be back. She was very sweet.

Great customer service from Samantha and her 2 trainees. Samantha seemed to know her stuff, those ladies are in good hands. I was able to see the facility and get info I need for a future move. Other places I went didn't seem to want to help me since I was not renting right away. I will be back!!

Samantha was very knowledgeable and helped me get the correct size unit after initially reserving the wrong one online. This is the second time we have used this facility and would definitely recommend it.

Came to this storage location to get information since I will be moving out of state in a couple of months, Samantha was very helpful. She showed me different sizes and answered all my questions as I have never done this before. The place was clean and has very high security. I will be back to rent in August and am confident my belongings will be safe and secure. Would highly recommend this location.

I had a pleasant experience with the customer service/ reservation specialist & with the manager of the facility but when it comes to the price you are quoted on the phone when making the reservation is not the same when you get to the facility. I feel all that should be explained to you before you make a decision and waste a trip! You have to pay an insurance fee/month, & buy their lock which ends up costing you about $30 more than expected. I just thank the lord that I had the money because I needed the storage.
