Public Storage - Matthews - 13015 E Independence Blvd

The Stallings facility is fab: great staff, great off-site manager, clean, well lit, auto-access works perfectly. The prob is with corporate: They increased my monthly charge about 30%!!!!! It appears they use dynamic pricing. My response: Is it OK for an airline to increase your fare when you're at the gate or on the plane? This is similar, though of course they have the right based on the contract, no doubt. When I called to ask what I'm getting for the extra $50/month, they quoted policy that they change rental fees based on demand. That's fine for new customers; but when I made my decision to rent with them, it was based on price. "It's policy" that they offer no refunds when I didn't notice the upcharges--HINT: Don't sign up for autopay; "It's policy" that they can't forward a dated email that shows me when they told me of the change; "It's policy" that the first rep you talk to says 3 times, "my manager will tell you the same thing I'm telling you" (not true. I made the tiniest bit of progress with the manager). "It's policy" that they'll increase their fees based on demand, but not reduce them based on demand. It's notable that the webrate today is drastically less than what I was paying--so looks like they have too much inventory. That flips dynamic pricing on its head. Instead of using it to encourage buying, they use it to ensure their current clients make up the costs for when they can't get their storage facilities full.

I gave it a 4 because Charles from Indian Trail was very helpful. He left his facility because whoever runs this one "left early" (it was 3:30/4 and they are supposed to stay open until 6) with no replacement. If Charles hadn't helped I would have gave it a 1.

Good location, easy entry. Parking was open and spot for the RV was acceptable. Convenient to where we will be living.

I just moved in last week, but so far, so good. Due to circumstances beyond my control, I arrived just a few minutes before closing. Nonetheless, the attendant, Kyle, was cordial and helpful in getting us signed up and showing us the facility.

Clean, organized, user-friendly. Available cart is very handy. Too many emails. Hard to find (address is not exactly accurate). Insurance is not necessarily necessary and is off-putting.

I've been here for a number of years. They now have this habit of raising the rent every six months. So the great deal you get on move-in suddenly vanishes with a 30 day notice. I would avoid this place.

It's all good. Reasonable prices, availability at a drop of a hat requests, and long pin access codes to make it challenging for swindlers to get any access. The facility is clean all within and out. Love the 2 way code and access gates for entering and exiting. Plus, when you are done with storage the lock and key is yours to keep. Then you can use it on your shed ...peace out folks. Keep your valuables here - you won't regret it!

The storage seems to be well kept up on and the staff was very attentive to my needs. She answered all my questions and concerns. Very good customer service. Knowing that I plan on renting the storage space for at least a year, it made me feel much better in knowing my belongings would be in a safe place.

Brye Answered all our questions with excellent customer service. The facility is clean and neat. one of the units we looked at had a possible water leak but she was willing to show us another and tell management about the possible problem and was very helpful. Its in a great location from where I am at and love it there, even get your own personal code to get in and out so no one can just get in unless they have a code..

I am actually writing this review from my son-in-law's computer as I just moved here and my computer cable has not been installed yet. My name is Shari Riley and Laurena was wonderful! We were in a hurry because we had to unload a moving truck and get our son to the airport to catch a flight. She was expedient in getting our paper work done, very friendly and helpful. She had a great personality. The unit was clean and ready for us to use.

Laurena is an absolute charm! She is by far the most accommodating professional that I've met. She was very helpful and honest. I wouldn't consider any other place to rent as long as she's there! Thank you Laurena!!!

The staff are GREAT, but whom-ever takes care of the weeds and grass, bushes, trees needs to be fired! The place is a mess and those ladies do such a great job with explaining the options for rentals and helping show the units. I like them a LOT... it was those two ladies (one younger girl and one lady) who sold me on our unit! They are worth their weight!
