We were assisted by "Michelle" at the Syosset NY location and could not have been happier. We did take advantage of a promotion which was great as well but it all boils down to people. After shopping around for storage we decided on this option because of Michelle's knowledge and engagement.

I had a very good initial experience with my storage unit. I received a call confirming my reservation, the person at the facility was polite and set us up with no issues. I was upset because I wanted to rent another unit. I called and made an appt. Again, someone called to confirm. I asked if my 2 units could be close to each other and they looked but they didn't have availability. Okay, no problem. I made sure to ask for the size that was $1 for the first month, etc. I got there today, and they informed me the $1 special was only for new customers. Really? Why didn't the lady say anything and how come that's not in any of the ads? I wasted all the time to book it, talk to the lady on the phone and come in (with a car full of boxes) to start a unit. I even asked if I could still have it for $1 since my husband rented the other one and this one was going to be in my name and the guy says one per household. Really?? That really annoyed me so I decided to forget the unit and all the wardrobe boxes I was going to buy today.

It was a smooth check in and she help me figure out the space I needed because what I reserved on line is totally not the right space. It was great that she showed me the 5 X 5 and the next size 5 X 10. She did not be little me but help me choose the right size I need and very helpful and courteous Also, help me find a discount and all the little detail you need to know later to make a right decision. I went to this Public Storage location because it's right by my new apartment. I had just moved to Syosset a couple of weeks ago and i realized i didn't have enough room for all of my things. I had heard about Public Storage through a friend of mine and she recommended i use them. I must say, the service i received was beyond my expectations. There were two girls that had helped me. Jessica and Amanda were so sweet and had helped me with any questions i had for them. They recommended a few different options until i settled on the right unit for me. I am definitely going to recommend this place and these two girls to my friends.

The facility is great - clean, well secured, easy access. They just need more carts!! They only have 3 medium sized carts for the whole facility. So if you're planning on going there on a weekend, prepare to wait or at least bring your own dolly because you could be there awhile. In comparison, the Bob's facility by the Hicksville LIRR station had about 20 carts of all sizes.

Not having rented any type of storage units before we focused more on size, location, temperature controlled, parking and price more then lighting combined with some of the other items listed. As the only overhead lighting was that filtering in from the hallway if there's ever a next time lighting will be a priority and then the list.
