My experience has been an absolute nightmare from day one. The level of incompetence and disregard for tenants is staggering. Communication is virtually nonexistent. Reaching anyone is like pulling teeth. You're constantly promised a callback from a manager—those promises are empty. The call center is useless, offering nothing but hollow apologies and scripted reassurances that never lead to action. They lied about the rent. I was explicitly told my rate would be locked in for a year. Without warning, they increased it. No explanation, no accountability—just a blatant bait-and-switch. Security is a joke. My unit was broken into within the first week. There was no lock installed when I moved in. I had to spend $80 out of pocket to secure it myself. After reporting the break-in, I waited seven days for a response. The property manager’s reaction? Indifference. No apology, no compensation, no ownership—just a shrug and a “not my problem” attitude. This company takes your money and leaves you stranded. No on-site staff. No support. No solutions. You're completely on your own. They push flimsy red slide locks that can be popped off with a screwdriver—a security risk they refuse to address. This isn’t just poor management—it’s borderline fraudulent. The company operates like a scam, profiting off deception and neglect. Their lack of accountability, nonexistent customer service, and disregard for tenant safety make this one of the worst rental experiences I’ve ever endured. Do yourself a favor: stay far away. Be sure to thoroughly read through all available reviews and feedback before making any decisions involving this facility. - Misleading pricing: Storage King attracts new tenants with competitive low rental rates, only to impose substantial rental increase notices shortly after. - Rampant theft and security issues: The facility is plagued by frequent burglaries due to the lack of an onsite manager. There is only a maintenance employee present three days a week. The district manager admitted in July 2024 that three to four units are broken into daily. - Unsupportive management: Management fails to contact tenants affected by break-ins, claiming that tenants must check their units regularly and resecure them when necessary. - Aggressive practices: Storage King quickly locks out tenants, puts units under lien, and provides no recourse in the event of a break-in. - Unsecured premises: The gate is often "broken" or left open, compromising security and inviting theft. Units are separated by thin metal flashing, which can be easily unscrewed, allowing easy access to neighboring units. - Questionable insurance association: The insurance company associated with Storage King - False advertising: Storage King falsely advertises 24-hour access, requiring express permission from upper management. These five star reviews are 100% not credible. Two were written in August 2023 right before four managers were fired at year end for mismanagement. One of them was guilty of attempted insurance fraud and I strongly advise against renting from Storage King's Dallas, TX location. Please take the time to read through all available reviews and feedback on any other site besides this. Look them up on Better Business Bureau. They have an F! You will regret being misled by the low rates. $100 rent becomes nearly twice that when your concession period ends. Visit Facebook group, StorageKingWatchdog, exposes their corrupt mismanagement and misconduct. Key points to consider: - Deceptive pricing: Low initial rates are followed by significant rental increases. - Security issues: With no onsite manager, break-ins are rampant.
