Public Storage - Roanoke - 3533 Franklin Rd SW

Our unit is fine and we were impressed by the facility manager who checked us in and came by to check on our move in progress. We were less impressed by the lack of carts available to assist in loading the unit. Really need more of those since multiple customers were actively looking for carts to use during our initial move in. Also noticed broken/shattered glass and some trash just outside the loading areas. Would be helpful to see more vigilance/effort at keeping the exterior clean of debris, especially glass.

I was looking for a safe and secure unit for some extra items that I didn't have room for at my home. This location did NOT disappoint. It is very clean...and I am happy that it is an indoors facility. To top it off the price is very reasonable!

I am very pleased with my choice in storage facilities. Clinton was helpful, informative, and personable.

My initial impression of the Public Storage facility in Roanoke, Va was very good. I was able to get a locker and download the app to let me into the building and locker without any difficulty. All went well the second time I tried to access the locker as well. However, when I got to the locker the third time and pressed the button on my phone to unlock the unit, nothing happened. The icon on my phone turned green but the unit light was still red and the unit did not unlock. After trying several times (including checking my bluetooth, rebooting my phone and resetting the app) I finally gave up. This was on a Saturday evening and there was no front desk help available. I was not able to put additional items in my locker or remove items that were already in it. The next day I arrived at 9:30 AM and spoke to the person at the front desk. He went with me to my locker and observed me unsuccessfully attempt to get access. After several attempt, he tried accessing the unit with his phone but was also unable to get it to open. He told me that there was nothing else he could do at that point. I told him that I would be out of town for a week and he assured me that the problem would be resolved by the time a I got back.. When I got back to the facility, I attempted to access the building only to realize that I no longer had access to the building or my locker. For some reason, my access to the facility had been completely removed. The front desk person had no idea why I was remove but he was able to put me back in. At this point the attendant accompanied me to my locker only to discover that all of the bluetooth lockers in this section of the building were not functioning.The attendant contacted his supervisor and told me that they would have to work on correcting the problem. He was, however, able to use a manual tool to open my locker so that I could have access. At this point, I would have to say that my experience with this facility has been about as bad as it could get from a customers perspective. I have no idea if I will have access to my locker the next time I return or if this problem will persist in the future. I gave a two star rating because the facility itself is very nice and the potential of the bluetooth locker system is very good WHEN IT WORKS...!!! Come on Public Storage - Get your act together - Bluetooth is a well established protocol and you should be able to implement it without all these problems.

I had a very easy rental experience. Pricing at this facility is below other facilities with climate control. This facility is extremely clean and well lit. Loading area is very easy to access with carts available to move items. Cameras are located all around for security.

Everything about the experience was exceptional. Great value, clean, well lite, easy access. Best of all was how helpful Sherri was, friendly, informative and patient with me because I am not good with smart phones.

PublicStorage's new facility on Franklin Rd. is very clean, organized and well laid out. They have at least two entrances, and ample hand trucks for customer usage. I believe all storage units are on the ground floor, making it easy to bring and take items from storage. Sheri was very helpful and informative. She gives you all the time you need to ask questions and gives a tour of the facility. She explains the entrances/exits, tells you the best way to find your storage bin, and how to find necessary things like the restrooms. :^) I give Public Storage five stars!
